State prison offender Brian Gibbons dies in custody

South Dakota State prison offender Brian Gibbons has died.

Gibbons, age 47, passed away at a Sioux Falls hospital April 22, 2024.

He was serving a sentence for first-degree robbery from Brookings County at the time of his death.
