A 52 year old man from Rapid City who pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance has been sentenced in federal court.
Eric Bonadore must spend 10 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, and pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
Court information says from approximately November 2018 to March 2019, Bonadore brought methamphetamine from Colorado to South Dakota. Bonadore travelled to Colorado on at least two occasions to obtain methamphetamine from a person introduced to him by a co-defendant. The defendant then dispersed the methamphetamine to others for use or additional distribution in South Dakota.
This case was investigated by the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team (UNET), Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. UNET is comprised of law enforcement from the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Rapid City Police Department, South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, and the South Dakota National Guard.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Kathryn N. Rich prosecuted the case.
Bonadore was immediately returned to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
