Here are this week’s Feel Good Friday Stories…
1. Here’s a great gift idea: There’s a video on Instagram of a woman unwrapping a baking dish. And she immediately cries . . . because there’s writing in the bottom of the dish with her great-grandmother’s carrot cake recipe, in her own handwriting.
2. A cop in Georgia recently lost his wedding ring while swimming at a state park in Florida, and left without finding it. But a 10-year-old girl spotted the ring while she was swimming later on. Her mom posted a photo of the ring on Facebook, and another cop who works with the guy happened to see it. So he got it back. And then the police department gave the girl an award for her honesty.
3. 38-year-old Billie Jo Rose and Bobbie Jo Sullivan are twin sisters from Illinois. Back when they were seven, Billie had leukemia. And Bobbie’s bone marrow saved her life. And now she just helped her sister out again by helping her become a MOM. Billie also battled breast cancer a few years ago and beat that too. But all the chemo she’s had made it almost impossible to conceive. So Bobbie donated her eggs, and Billie now has a healthy, two-month-old baby girl.
4. The owners of a butcher shop in Michigan were taking an envelope full of cash to the bank last week, but dropped it on the ground outside their store. And security footage showed someone pick it up and drive off. So they called the cops. But then right after they made the call, the guy who found the envelope showed up to return it. He said he tried to bring it in earlier but they were closed, and he had to go to work. They ended up thanking him with a gift card and a nice cut of meat.
5. A dad in China never stopped searching for his son, who was kidnapped in 1997. And he just found him 24 years later. A DNA test proved it’s his son, and photos of their reunion are going viral. Guo and his wife and their son were reunited Sunday, with images showing the father tearfully embracing him. His son was was found living in the same province where he was kidnapped. Guo’s long search for his son had inspired a movie, called Lost and Love.
6. An animal hospital in Massachusetts rescued a goose with a broken foot from a nearby pond this week. And another goose is refusing to leave his side. They were prepping him for surgery when they heard a tap on their door . . . which turned out to be his longtime GIRLFRIEND trying to break into their clinic. They put him next to the glass door after surgery, so she could check in on him. And she’s been hanging out there ever since. They say it’ll be another few weeks before he gets out, but he’s a lot calmer when she’s around. So they’ll make sure they can see each other.
