YANKTON – Pierre Governor Boys Golf tied for 5th Friday at the Yankton Invitational at the Hillcrest Golf & Country Club. Officially, Pierre is listed as taking fifth by a scorecard playoff. The Governors’ fifth golfer, Jack Bartlett, had a better score than the fifth golfers of Tea Area and Yankton.
Nick Bothun shot 83 and eagled the par-five first hole. Sawyer Sonnenschein also shot 83 and had a birdie. Lincoln Houska fired an 85, with Luke Olson shooting 87, Bartlett carding an 89 and Jonathan Lyons shooting 96.
The Governors will next play Monday in the Brookings Invitational at Edgebrook Golf Course.
