FORT PIERRE – Last week’s 50-36 homecoming win over White River was an important one for the 2-4 Stanley County Buffaloes. But Friday’s game at Lemmon/McIntosh is just as crucial for SC, who stands 16th in the 9AA seed points standings with three games remaining in the regular season. Lemmon/McIntosh, a 9AA semifinalist each of the last two seasons, is 3-3 after a win last week over Harding County/Bison.
Stanley County Head Coach Max Foth said his team played its best game of the season so far last Friday.
Foth spoke of the perseverance of senior Andruw Fredericksen, who has been pressed into a more prominent role than expected due to injuries. He had rushing and kickoff return TDs against White River.
Foth said that the Cowboys feature size and toughness.
