Well this is pretty forking ridiculous: There’s a small town near Ottawa called Frankville. And in 2019, the town council installed a huge fork sculpture where a single road splits in two . . . a literal “fork in the road.”
But it’s not where it’s supposed to be right now, because someone just STOLE it.
Last week, people noticed the nine-foot fork was bent over, like someone tried to break it off its base. So the town was going to fix it But by the next morning, it was gone.
It sounds like whoever bent the fork came back with tools and unbolted it from the ground. Police still don’t know where it is or WHY they took it. But they might be trying to sell it as scrap metal.
The artist who made it called all the scrap yards around town. So if someone shows up with a nine-foot fork, they’ll call the cops.
The mayor hopes that whoever took it drops it back off in the same spot, no questions asked. But if that doesn’t happen, they WILL rebuild.
