Vehicle Fire on Tower Hill East of Mobridge

The driver wasn’t injured, but a vehicle was a complete loss after a fire yesterday (Aug. 11) afternoon east of Mobridge.

Walworth County Sheriff Josh Boll says Mobridge Regional Dispatch notified his office of a vehicle fire at Tower Hill on US Highway 12 around 1:15pm.

84-year-old Edwin VanderVorst of Akaska is the driver and owner of the vehicle. What caused the 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 to catch fire is unknown.

Mobridge Fire Department, Walworth County Sheriff’s Office and Mobridge Police Department responded.
