The Ride Across South Dakota bicycle tour will show off the Missouri River and its four dams during this year’s RASDak 2020 Best Dam Ride.
The 463 mile tour will start in Pollock on June 7, with overnight stops at Mobridge, Gettysburg, Pierre, Chamberlain, Platte and Tyndall before finishing in Vermillion June 13. RASDak will be providing a $500 scholarship to a senior in each of the host communities.
Registration for RASDak is limited. Full-week and single-day options are available. Registered riders receive on-route support and camping accommodations. Regular food and rest stops are provided along the way, usually by local groups as fundraisers. Registration and a full route map are at rasdak.com.
This will be the 8th ride across the state and the first going from North to South. Bicyclists from over 30 states will be participating, attracted by the infinite variety of South Dakota scenery and the hospitality of South Dakota’s small communities.
RASDak and its riders will be supporting numerous community groups that will be providing snack stops, meals and shelter to the riders and support crew.
RASDak is a volunteer organization that is supported by the following sponsors: South Dakota Beef Industry Council, Spoke-n-Sport, Sioux Falls Bicycle Company, and AARP South Dakota.
