WATERTOWN, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor golf team had their highest finish as a team this season with a second place showing Monday at the Prairie Winds Golf Course in Watertown. The Lady Govs fired a 351 but were still 28 shots behind tournament champion Aberdeen Central. Watertown Purple, one of two Watertown teams in the tournament field was third at 370. Annabelle Simpson of Pierre had her best roud of the season firing a 77 and a tie for a second place finish with Aberdeen Central’s Brooklyn Hofer. That was one shot behind tournament champion Sydney Wirebraugh of Aberdeen Central. Kaitlyn Swenson and Taylor Davis both came in with 91’s to tie for 15th and place in the tournament. The Lady Govs will now practice for the next two days and then play in the ESD Tournament that is Thursday in Harrisburg.
