A Memorial Day Service, hosted by the Charles E. Thorne VFW Post 2038 of Pierre, will be held Monday at T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre.
The band starts at 10am, service starts at 11am. This year’s emcee is District 6 CDR for the VFW for the State of South Dakota Glynis Collier. Collier is an Iraqi Freedom and Afghan Enduring Freedom combat veteran.
Following the service, the VFW Auxiliary will host a lunch at the American Legion Cabin in Pierre. Cost is a free will offering.
