ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — Zach Horstman, a former Winner basketball standout, has been hired as a full-time assistant basketball coach at Northern State, the school said Thursday.
Horstman was a graduate assistant for the Wolves in each of the last two seasons. Horstman worked with Northern State’s big men, helping develop Carter Evans and Logan Doyle into two of the best post players in the NSIC. Horstman stays with a team that has gone 58-12 over the past two seasons, including 36-4 and an Elite Eight appearance last season. Horstman was the 2011 South Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year before scoring 347 career points on 42.6 percent shooting at South Dakota State.
