DELL RAPIDS, S.D. – Sioux Falls Christian fired an opening round 371 and holds a 4 stroke lead over Madison going into the second and final day of the Girls State Class A golf tournament being golfed in Dell Rapids. Payson Birkeland of Belle Fourche had an opening round 75 and holds a 3 shot lead over Alex Kandolin of St. Thomas More. Katy Wynga of Sioux Falls Christian is 4 shots back in third place. Ronae Klien of Winner is in 12th place following a first round score of 89. Callie Weisbeck of Mobridge Pollock had a 95 and is in a tie for 22nd. Averie Larson of Chamberlain had a 99. WATERTOWN, S.D. – Burke South Central has a five stroke lead in the Girls State Class B golf tournament as it moves into it’s second round today at the Prairie Winds Golf Course in Watertown. Burke South Central fired a first round 263 and is five strokes up on Howard in the team standings. Tressa Bull of Burke South Central and Maddie Palmquist of Howard are tied for the individual lead with first round scores of 84. Taylee Indahl of Burke South Central is in third place one shot back.

The Boys State Class B golf tournament is being golfed at the Cattail Crossing Country Club in Watertown and after the first day, Great Plains Lutheran holds a 9 shot lead over runner up Platte Geddes . Great Plains Lutheran fired an on opening round 239. Parker is third with a 252. Individually, Devon Weelborg of Hamlin fired a first round 76 and holds a one shot lead over 4 other golfers.
