DELL RAPIDS, S.D. – Belle Fourche captured the Class A Team title with a two round total 375 to win the South Dakota Class A girls golf tournament that wrapped up Tuesday at Dell Rapids. The Bronco’s recorded a 12 stroke victory over runner up Sioux Falls Christian. Payson Birkeland of Belle Fourche led from start to finish with a two round total 159 and one stroke victory over runner up Alex Kandolin of St. Thomas More. Chamberlain had two golfers golf in the Class A tournament. Averie Larsen had a second round 93 and two round total 192 to tie for 24th. And Taysa Hutmacher fired a second round 106 for a two score of 218.
WATERTOWN, S.D. – Burke South Central posted a 19 stroke victory over Deubrook Area to win the Class B Girls State Golf tournament that wrapped up Tuesday at the Prairie Winds Golf Course in Watertown. Burke South Central fired a two round total of 523. Tress Bull of Burke South Central pulled away with a second round score 83 and two round total of 167 to win the individual medalist honors by one stroke over runner up and teammate Taylee Indahl.
The Class B Boys State Golf tournament also wrapped up on Tuesday at the Cattail Crossing Country Club in Watertown with Great Plains Lutheran fired a two total 472 after a second round team score of 233. Parker had a two round 498 total to finish runner up. Individually, the Class B medalist was Judah Anderhold of Aberdeen Christian who had a second round 69 for a two round score 148 and two stroke victory over runner up JJ Beck of Gregory.
