MINOT, N.D. – The Pierre Trappers ended a 4 game losing streak by outscoring the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs 19-13 in Expedition League baseball in Minot on Tuesday night. Pierre scored 7 runs in the third inning and added 5 more in the 4th and never trailed in the game although Souris Valley would not go away. The Sabre Dogs had a 5 run second inning and 4 run 4th inning to keep the game close. Pierre had 19 hits in the game and Ken Scott hit his second home run of the season as the Trappers improved to 6 and 5 on the season. Tyler McDonald was the winning pitcher for Pierre despit giving up 12 runs on 9 hits. Alex Sheetz pitched 4 innings of relief allowing 1 run on 4 hits. Souris Valley had 13 hits. The Trappers are back home tonight hosting the Hub City Hot Shots in a 6:35 pm contest at Hyde Stadium. It will be the 7th game between the two teams with the Trappers owning a 5-1 mark.
