The Pierre Police Department responded to eight calls about thefts from unlocked vehicles yesterday (Wed.).
The thefts were in the northeastern part of town. On several occasions, multiple vehicles were entered parked at or near the residence, including in owner’s driveways. Various items of value, including cash, were taken from the vehicles.
The Pierre Police Department reminds citizens to lock their vehicles and remove all valuables from them. This type of theft is often a crime of opportunity presenting itself because of unlocked vehicles.
