Post 8 Splits Doubleheader with Sioux Falls East

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion baseball team split a doubleheader in Sioux Falls against Sioux Falls East on Tuesday. Post 8 dropped the opening game 8-7 but came back in the nightcap to down the Sioux Falls squad 11-3. In the nightcap, Pierre had a 5 run 5th inning that gave them the lead they would not relinquish. Post 8 outhit Sioux Falls East 10-3 in the game with Carson Tschetter and Gray Zabel each getting a pair of hits and Micheal Lusk driving in 3 runs. Alex Badger and Kyle Stover each pitched 3 strong innings for Pierre. In the opener, East scored two runs in the bottom of the 7th for the come from behind win. Pierre again out hit Sioux Falls East 10-7 in the contest with Badger and Lusk each getting two hits apiece while Badger had a pair of RBI’s for Pierre. Parker Pietz pitched 4.1 innings for Pierre striking out 4. The loss put’s Pierre’s record at 8-9 on the season. Post 8 is off until Monday when they host Mitchell for the first time this year in a doubleheader at Hyde Stadium.
