A new, integrated behavioral healthcare facility serving central South Dakota will be built in Pierre.
Capital Area Counseling Services Board of Directors member Tiffany Sanchez says they’ve been raising funds for the past few years.
Sanchez says there’s a growing need for mental health care services across the region. With several major projects going on in the area, she says they knew fundraising could be challenging.
Sanchez says mental health problems could affect anyone.
Along with bringing all of their staff and resource under one roof, the new facility will allow Capital Area Counseling to offer more services.
The facility will be built in the northeast part of Pierre, just north of Beck Motors. Construction is scheduled to start in August.
Capital Area Counseling Services marks it’s 50th anniversary early next month.
