Pierre Swimmers Perform Well in Rapid City and Mitchell

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota long course swimming season is in full swing, and the Pierre Swim Team (PST) competed on opposite sides of the state this past weekend, swimming in the Corn Palace Invitational and the Rapid City Mount Rushmore Invite. Five PST swimmers traveled to Mitchell and swam well with Kaitlynn Axtell and Michelle Weiss winning events. Weiss captured 3 first place finishes and was second in the individual high point competition. Meanwhile 10 PST members swimming in Rapid City also found success in the Black Hills. Ella Ward Zellar placed 4th or better in her four swims, including a female 13-14, 200 backstroke event win. Not to be outdone by is sister, Mason Ward Zellar swam to victory in the male 11-12, 100 breast stroke and three more top 4 finishes.
