PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion baseball team got strong pitching again on Tuesday night as they downed Huron 8-1 in a single 9 inning game played at Hyde Stadium. Gray Zabel led the way on the mound with 5 innings pitched and striking out 6 to pick up the win. Huron was limited to 2 hits in the game as Pierre scored 7 runs over a 4 inning span from the 2nd through 5th innings. Post 8 had 9 hits in the game led by Jake Mayer, Austin Hoss and Garrett Stout who each had 2 hits apiece. Huron also committed 4 errors in the game. The win evens the Post 8 record up on the season at 10-10 as they take to the road tonight to face Rapid City Post 320 in a doubleheader in Rapid City.
