PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Trappers won their second straight Expedition League contest on Thursday night as they scored 3 runs in the first and added 5 more in the third to down the Casper Horseheads 9-3 in a game at Hyde Stadium. Seth Brewer and 3 Trapper relievers held Casper to 4 hits on the night with Brewer going the first four innings allowing 2 runs. AJ Fell and Jimmy Brazil combined for 4 innings of 2 hit baseball and Conner Burgess pitched the 9th inning allowing 1 run. Offensively, the Trappers had 8 hits including a pair of hits from Michael Herrera and a double from Zane Phelps. Pierre native Landon Badger had an RBI for Pierre which improved to 13-16 on the season. The Trappers and Horseheads play game two of the series tonight with a first pitch at Hyde Stadium scheduled for 7:05 pm for Fireworks Friday.
