PIERRE, S.D. – A 7 runs 6th inning broke open a tight game as the Pierre Trappers began the second half of the Expedition League season with a 13-4 win over the Hub City Hot Shots Wednesday in Aberdeen. Tate Ellison homered for the Trappers who had a 15 hit attack. Pierre natives Landon Badger and Spencer Sarringer each doubled for the Trappers. Sarringer had a team high 3 RBI’s and Jack Stamper led the offense with 4 hits. 3 Trappers pitchers held the Hot Shots in check with starting pitcher Conner McDonald picking up the win going 6 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 7. The Trappers travel to Minot tonight to face the Lewis Division Souris Valley Sabre Dogs for one game. They then will host the Sabre Dogs in a brief 3 game home stand beginning tomorrow (Friday) night at Hyde Stadium.
