A 23-year-old Eagle Butte, South Dakota, woman convicted of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine has been sentenced to ten years federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
Cherae Runs After pled guilty in April.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, Runs After introduced Alfredo Chavez-Mendoza of Utah to several local residents for the purpose of linking the Utah man with people who could sell methamphetamine he supplied. In addition to being the party that introduced Chavez-Mendoza to the Cheyenne River area, Runs After also distributed methamphetamine for him.
Alfredo Chavez-Mendoza, Christina Lofton, Stephanie Lofton, Robert Lofton, Tyler and Ashley Peterson, Roy Antrim, Braxtyn Garreau and Charlie Marshall have all previously been convicted for their involvement in this narcotics trafficking conspiracy.
This case was investigated by the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services.
Runs After was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshals Service.
