Ft. Pierre Fourth of July Rodeo Another Big Success

FT. PIERRE, S.D. -Central South Dakota Cowboys and Cowgirls did well on Tuesday and Wednesday at the annual Ft. Pierre 4th of July Rodeo was held. T.R. Stirling of Ft. Pierre won the Bull Riding competition with a ride of 81 while Brady Hill of Onida was the winner in the Saddle Bronc riding with a score of 76. Lee Sivertson of Ree Heights won the Calf Roping with a winning score of 9.60. Other winners at the Ft. Pierre 4th of July Rodeo included Nick Swedhelm of Brookings in the Bareback. Brett Wilcox of Red Owl prevailed in the Steer Wrestling and Tom Williams of Faith won the Men’s Senior Breakaway. Team Roping winners were Braden Pirrung of Hartford and Matt Zancanella of Aurora. Mixed Team Roping winners were Shayla Howell of Belle Fourche and Bobby Harms of Highmore. Amy Tierney of Oral was tops in Goat Tying while Jacque Peterson of Isabel won the Ladies Breakaway competition. And Ft. Pierre Cowgirls Kristi Hoggarth along with Mary Pat Fawcett of Ree Heights and Lennie Steffen of Colome were the winners in the Team Penning Competition. The Ft. Pierre 4th of July Rodeo was a South Dakota Rodeo Association sanctioned Rodeo. For all of the results of the Ft.
