RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Rapid City Post 22 on Saturday night in Rapid City. Post 8 dropped the opener 6-5 and then fell in the nightcap by a 8-1 score. In the opener, Peyton Zabel took his first loss of the season allowing all 6 runs on only 5 hits. Post 22 scored what proved to be the game winning run in the 4th inning. Garrett Stout had 3 of Pierre’s 8 hits. In the nightcap, Post 22 scored 4 runs in the first inning and shut down Pierre the rest of the way. Gray Zabel started and took the loss for Post 8 who got their lone run in the 6th inning on an RBI hit by Michael Lusk. Pierre has dropped 3 in a row as they take Sunday off and return to action on Monday when they host Watertown in a 5 pm doubleheader at Hyde Stadium.
