PIERRE, S.D. -The Pierre Governor basketball team didn’t win a ton of games in the three summer team camps they participated in, but Governor head coach Terry Becker thinks the summer team records are never very good since it is very hit and miss with having all of the athletes available for the weekends. He says the team has a long way to go but they did show some significant improvement through the 3 weeks of team camps that the Govs participated in. The Governors finish up the summer with open gyms in July and coach Becker is hoping the boys take the initiative to come in and improve their individual games, because he says the coaching staff saw clearly that they have work to do! But with good participation numbers, and a ton of kids gaining a lot of valuable experience the Governor head coach says the team can improve and be competitive by the start of the season.
