SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – Sioux Falls has added beer drinking while hurling axes to the city’s list of entertainment options.
The Argus Leader reports that the City Council on Tuesday approved a business’ request to sell beer and wine at its new location, where customers will be able to throw axes at targets.
Adam Stockberger is co-owner of escape room business, Escape 605. He says their proposed ax-throwing location will bring a new element to the experience. Stockberger says they’ll limit customers to one drink per hour and keep beverages out of the ax-throwing cages.
Councilor Theresa Stehly cast the lone opposing vote. She voiced concerns about mixing drinking and ax throwing, saying she’d “rather be hit by a dart than a hatchet.”
Escape 605’s new location is expected to open later this summer.
