Pierre Duo Competes at State B/C Swim Meet

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Aliya Erickson and Ava Lavinger were probably a little lonely at the State B/C Long Course Meet in Sioux Falls. The girls were the only two members of the Pierre Swim Team to compete in the event, which is the last chance to qualify for the state meet in Rapid City. But The small Pierre contingent had a strong showing.
Ava Lavinger, swimming in the Female 8 and Under Division, had 3 top 10 finishes. Alliya Erickson, swimming in the Female 9-10 Division, won the 50 back and breast stroke events and placed 3rd in the 200 freestyle event; qualifying her for the State A meet in those races. Erickson also had several other strong swims leading her to tie for the high points award in her age group. Twenty PST members will be traveling to Rapid City next weekend for the State A Long Course meet.
