HASTINGS, Neb. – The Hastings Sodbusters scored the winning run in the bottom of the 8th and they went on to down the Pierre Trappers 7-6 in Expedition League Baseball Sunday in Hastings. Pierre led 3-0 after 1 and 6-3 after 4 innings but could not off the Sodbusters who swept the 3 game series from Pierre and sent the Trappers to their 4th straight loss. Cole Johnson took the loss in relief of Alex Sheetz who allowed 3 runs on 6 hits over 4 innings. Johnson allowed 4 runs on 5 hits over 4 innings. Hastings outhit Pierre 11-7 in the contest with 6 of Pierre’s hits all singles. Teddy Peterson doubled and drove in a run. Cal Smith delivered an RBI single and a RBI while Jackson Bak got his first RBI of the season. With the loss, the Trappers fall to 25-25 on the season. Pierre begins their final week of play in the first year Collegiate Wood Bat league tonight when the host Spearfish at Hyde Stadium at 6:35 pm.
