Members from Pierre Elks Lodge 1953 and the South Dakota Elks Association have given $1,400 to the Hughes County Teen Court program.
Elks members believe the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Pierre Elks Lodge 1953 members, and their state and national partners, strive to educate children and parents about the dangers of illegal drug use and prevent the abuse of legalized and prescription drugs.
The Elks have also teamed up with Marvel Comic Books to produce a book featuring Marvel superheroes and Elroy the Elk in a battle against underage drinking. Educational materials offered by the program include prevention tools for parents, videos, coloring books, posters and public service announcements can be found at: https://www.elks.org/dap/resources/.
