CHAMBERLAIN, S.D. – Ryan Schoenhard delivered an RBI single in the 8th inning that drove in the winning run as Chamberlain downed South Central 9-8 in an eliminated game of the District 3B Amateur Baseball tournament Wednesday night in Chamberlain. Zach Zimprich went the distance for Chamberlain on the mound and was the winning pitcher allowing 9 hits. Paul Taggert allowed 10 hits in doing the distance for South Central. The game also was not played cleanly in the field as the Mallards committed 6 errors and South Central had 5. The win guarantees Chamberlain a spot in the upcoming Class B State Amateur Baseball tournament that will begin next week in Sioux Falls. Four Corners, Miller/Wessington and Plankinton also have qualified from Region 3B as State Amateur Tournament representatives.
