PIERRE, S.D. – The Hastings Sodbusters bounced back on Sunday after getting shutout on Saturday. The Sodbusters downed the Trappers 16-4 Sunday night at Hyde Stadium in Expedition League Baseball. The Tappers had 11 hits but could not bunch them together at key times in the game. Spencer Sarringer, Seth Brewer and Johh Simonsen had RBI singles for the Trappers but the Sodbusters put 16 hits on the board including Breydon Eckhout’s first home run of the season. Alex Sheets allowed 5 runs on 6 hits through 4.2 innings to take the loss. The Trappers record fall to 29-28 on the season as they host the Badlands Big Sticks tonight in the second to final home game for the season at Hyde Stadium;. Game time is 6:35 pm. The Trappers and Big Sticks are in a virtual tie for the second and final playoff spot in the Lewis Division with Pierre percentage points ahead.
