PIERRE, S.D. – The Badlands Big Sticks rallied from a 5-2 deficit to score 6 unanswered runs and down the Pierre Trappers 8-5 in Expedition League Baseball action Monday night in Pierre. Badlands scored single runs in the 6th 7th and 8th innings as they outhit the Trappers 9 to 8 in the game. Aaron Fritts homered for Badlands and had 3 hits and 3 RBI’s on the night as the Big Sticks took a game lead over the Trappers for second place and the final playoff spot in the Lewis Division. Jack Stamper tripled and Cal Smith doubled for Pierre and Stamper got his 50th RBI on the season. Joseph Brazil took the loss for Pierre in relief of Eric Romo. Brazil allowed 4 runs over the final 3.2 innings to fall to 1 and 2 on the season. With the loss, the Trappers are now 29-29 and will host Badlands in the final home game of the regular season tonight at Hyde Stadium. It will be fan appreciation night for the 6:35 pm first pitch.
