Dell Rapids Wins State B American Legion Baseball Tournament

REDFIELD, S.D. — A three-run home run by Matt Gillogly lifted Dell Rapids to a 10-7 victory over McCook-Miner in the championship of the South Dakota State Class B American Legion Baseball Tournament on Tuesday in Redfield. After trailing 5-2 and 7-4, Dell Rapids scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh, the last two on Elijah Story’s home run. In the eighth — the first extra inning — a one-out single by Jay Holm and an error set up Gillogly’s walkoff blast. McCook Miner earned their spot in the championship game be eliminating Dakota Valley 7-5 earlier in the day.
