Fall Softball Practice Underway for Pierre Fast Pitch Softball

PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Fall fast-pitch Softball team has been practicing since August 6th preparing for the upcoming season. There are 24 girls out for JV and Varsity fast-pitch softball this year, and there are 14 out for the middle school program. Last year Pierre took 3rd with its first ever Varsity team, and the JV also brought home 3rd place honors. 10 seniors graduated but new comers were strong replenishing the numbers. Pierre hosts a pre-season exhibition of JV & Varsity this Sunday with Watertown, Sturgis, and Aberdeen coming to town. Pierre will play their first game at 10 a.m. and then again at 2 pm. The season kicks off August 26th in Sioux Falls with games each weekend with the exception of Labor Day weekend, through the first weekend of October.
