PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Governor and Lady Governor Cross Country teams opened their season last Friday hosting Rapid City Central and Aberdeen Central in the Pierre Invitational meet on LaFramboise Island. Pierre Cross Country head coach Jim Keyes said that several of the Lady Governor runners had a good start to their season.
As far as the Governor boys go, coach Keyes said that for a first meet, he had a couple of runners run smart.
This week, the Governors and Lady Governors will run in Sioux Falls at the Augustana Twilight meet which will be run in Yankton Trail Park and is a fun meet to attend and compete in according to coach Keyes.
Coach Keyes also says strategy will come into play in Sioux Falls running on a flat course compared the course the runners ran on at LaFramboise Island last week.
The Augustana Twilight meet will begin at 6:30 pm Friday night in Sioux Falls.
