A 32-year-old man from Reliance, SD, was treated for substantial injuries after a boat accident early Sunday morning on Lake Sharpe north of Fort Pierre.
According to Game, Fish and Parks conservation officer John Murphy, the man was piloting a 24 foot, 1998 Wellcraft Cabin Cruiser shortly after midnight when it collided with a T-Dike at Diver’s Point. The man was treated at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre. The 65-year-old male passenger from California refused treatment at the scene.
The cabin cruiser has extensive damage.
The accident remains under investigation.
