PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor soccer team recorded it’s second straight shutout on Tuesday as they down Mitchell 5-0 in high school league action at the Pierre Indian Learning Soccer Fields. Abbi Foster scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the game and Emily Mikkelsen added a pair of goals at the 55 and 79 minute marks. Janaina Zanin closed out the scoring with a goal at the 79 minute mark. Avery Davis had an assist as the Lady Gov record improved to 7-1-1 on the season. The Governor boys also found the win column for the second time this season as they downed Mitchell 3-1. Ethan Campea, Cole Peterson and Turner Starr each scored goals for the Governors while Peterson added an assist. Cam Ahartz made 5 saves on the game as Pierre improved to 2-6-1 with the win. The Governors and Lady Govs will travel to Sioux Falls to face Sioux Falls Roosevelt on Saturday.
