BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Pierre Govern ors fired a 369 team score and sit in 16th place in the 17 team Class AA Boys State Golf tournament after day 1. The tournament is being played in Brookings at the Brookings Country Club. Rapid City Stevens fired a 302 and has a 5 shot lead going into today’s final round. Adam Salter of Stevens fired an opening round 71 and has a 2 shot lead over runner up Jackson Faber of Brandon Valley. Pierre scores on day 1 saw Carter Karst and Grady Klundt each fire rounds of 90 and are tied for 70th place. Tyler Swenson had a 94 and is in 79th place. Sawyer Lee is tied for 82nd after a opening round 95 and Zain Baus came in with a 102 and is in 95th place in the field of 105.
DELL RAPIDS, S.D. – Chamberlain fired a an opening round 394 and is 13th after the first day of the Class A State Boys Golf Tournament in Dell Rapids. Dakota Valley fired a 343 and has a 3 shot lead. Brock Murphy of Tea Area has the first day lead individually after a open round of 75. 1 shot better than Nate Nielson of Sisseton. Cameron Caldwell of Chamberlain fired an 80 and is in 8th place going into the second and final round of the tournament.
