The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the waiting period for the final Missouri River Recovery Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement to Nov. 9, 2018.
The Corps of Engineers first made the final Environmental Impact Statement available Aug. 31, 2018, and the Environmental Protection Agency announced it in the Federal Register Sept. 7, 2018. The original waiting period before the Agency made a final decision was 30 days, in accordance with National Environmental Policy Act regulations. The extension allows for over 60 total days, which is more than double the requirement. While this waiting period is not a public comment period, the Corps of Engineers will accept comments submitted; however, responses will not be provided.
The public may review the Environmental Impact Statement online at: http://www.nwo.usace.army.mil/mrrp/mgmt-plan/ or at: http://parkplanning.nps.gov/MRRMP.
