PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor soccer team is headed back to the State Championship game. Pierre edged Sioux Falls O’Gorman 2-0 in a steady mist and drizzle on Tuesday in Pierre. With the win the Lady Govs will travel to Rapid City to play in their second consecutive State Championship game on Saturday. Taryn Senger scored a goal on a corner kick with 25 minutes into the first half that proved to be the game winner for Pierre. Abigail Foster scored the other goal for Pierre 12 minutes later. They will play Rapid City Stevens for the state championship on Saturday in Rapid City. Stevens defeated Yankton 1-0 in the other semi final game Pierre beat Stevens during the regular season.
