SDSU's Daum Gathers Pre Season Accolade

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – South Dakota State’s Mike Daum was named to the 2019 Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award preseason watch list, announced Thursday by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The award, now in its fifth year, recognizes the top power forwards in Division I men’s basketball. Daum was one of five finalists for the 2018 Karl Malone Award and is a repeat selection to the preseason watch list. is a two-time Associated Press honorable mention All-American and Summit League Player of the Year. He led the Jackrabbits to their third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017-18 and was one of three players nationally to average more than 20 points (23.9) and 10 rebounds (10.3) per contest last season.
