The Pierre City Commission is implementing a sales tax rebate program for eligible businesses.
Mayor Steve Harding says the program would give incentive to build or expand in Pierre.
Under the proposal, Harding says the city would be able to rebate up to 1.25 percent of the business’ sales tax.
Pierre Economic Development Corporation COO Jim Protexter says he’s already sharing the proposal information with perspective businesses.
The sales tax rebate program for Pierre is effective immediately.
