VERMILLION, S.D. – Senior Trey Burch-Manning tallied a double-double and four Coyotes scored in double figures as South Dakota men’s basketball defeated Dakota Wesleyan 77-61 in exhibition action Tuesday night. The contest was the first chance for Coyote fans to see first-year head coach Todd Lee in action in the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. A hallmark of Lee’s system is a strong defense and the Coyotes held DWU to just 30.9 percent shooting from the field and 25.7 percent from long-range. After a sloppy first half, South Dakota shot 50 percent from the field in the second half to finish the game shooting 40.8 percent. Burch-Manning totaled 15 of his 20 points in the second half and finished the game with 11 rebounds. Ty Hoglund, a 1,000-point scorer in just two years at Dakota Wesleyan, led the Tigers with 18 points. Samuel McCloud added 12 points and seven rebounds.
