Sully Buttes Head Coach Named Region Coach of the Year

WATERTOWN, S.D. – Mark Senftner of Sully Buttes has been named the Region 3 Coach of the Year by the South Dakota Football Coaches Association. Senftner has led the Chargers to a unbeaten record this season and the teams second straight trip to the State title game. Also named Coaches of the Year include former Pierre Governor head coach Jayson Poppinga who is now the head coach of Sioux Falls O’Gorman as the Region 5 Coach of the Year Todd County head coach Bud Kornely, the Region 8 Coach of the Year. All 8 of the Region Coaches will recieve their awards at halftime of Friday night’s Class 11AA football championship game. In addition, John Krogstrand of Pierre will be one of two men to receive the Association’s Friend of Football Award. Here is a list of award winners from the SDFCA.
