The Bush Foundation has chosen Capital Area Counseling Service based in Pierre as one of its six 2018 Bush Prize for Community Innovation recipients.
Capital Area Counseling Service president and CEO Dennis Pfrimmer says the $500-thousand can be used broadly to provide mental health and addiction services in central South Dakota.
Capital Area Counseling Service applied for the funds and Pfrimmer says there are many people to thank.
On another note, Pfrimmer says construction of their new, integrated facility in the northeast part of Pierre is showing progress.
The Bush Prize, now in its sixth year, is awarded annually in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the 23 Native nations that share the same geography.
Capital Area Counseling provides services to residents of Buffalo, Haakon, Hughes, Hyde, Jones, Lyman, Potter, Stanley and Sully Counties.
