PIERRE, S.D. – 5 members of the Pierre Governor football team and student managers were named Academic All State today by the South Dakota Football Coaches Association. The 4 players named to the team were Jack Maher, Lee Snyder, Alec Miller and Josh Rounds. The student manager named was Lisa Stein. To earn Academic All State honors recipents must be seniors, played or student managed football for at least 3 years and maintain a 3.50 Grade Point Average. Stanley County also had 6 players named to the All State Academic team. They were JD Carter, Logan Chase, Joey Fischer, Trevor Habeck, Austin Hand, Riley Hannum. Eli Jones and Joey Simpson made the squad from Miller-Highmore/Harrold. Kolten Kirby, Miriam Knoble, Cole Nafziger, Peter Rausch, Shad Sharp, Aaron Smith and Autumn Wieseler from Potter County were named to the Academic All State team as was Grant Chester and Jacob Hoffer from Lyman and Braeden Peery and Cade Currier from Sully Buttes.
