RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Oahe Capitals Varsity boys hockey team went 2-2 over the weekend in a tournament in Rapid City and brought home 3rd place in the 6 team tournament that was hosted by the Rushmore Thunder. On Friday, the Capitals opened up the tournament with a 10-2 win over Gillette, Wyoming. 10 diffrent players scored for Oahe in the contest as they broke open a 1-0 game at the intermission with 5 goals in the second period and added 4 more in the third. On Saturday, the Capitals were beaten twice. Billings, Montana defeated the Capitals 5-3 and the Glen Moro-Carburry Manitoba Wildcats posted a 4-2 win. The Capitals played the Canadien team a second time in the tournament on Sunday and won that matchup 5-2 as Talon Greise scored a hat trick for the Capitals. The Capitals opened the season 2-2 after going 1 and 3 in 4 exhibition games. The Capitals begin league play next weekend when they host the Rushmore Thunder on Friday and Huron on Saturday at the EXPO Center.
