SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The Oahe Lady Capitals dropped both games of their season opening league series with the Sioux Center Storm over the weekend. After Sioux Center scored a 3-1 win over the Lady Capitals on Saturday, they won again yesterday as they defeated Oahe 6-4. Sioux Center took a 2-0 first period lead before the Lady Capitals scored 2 goals in the second period and cut the lead to 5-2 after 2 periods of play. Ashlton Lee scored the first Oahe goal at the 39 second mark of the second period to cut the Storm lead to 2-1. Olivia Swensen scored on a Lee assist at the 3:01 mark to bring the Lady Capitals to within one at 3-2. Sioux Center scored the games next 3 goals before the Lady Cap’s got two more goals from Lee midway and late in the third period for the 6-4 score. Lee scored her first hat trick of her career in the contest as the Lady Capitals were outshot 40-33 in the game. Abagail Stewart-Fromm made 34 saves in goal for Oahe which is 0-2-0 to start the League season. The Lady Capitals will have their home opener next Saturday when they entertain Huron at the EXPO Center.
