(KXLG Radio) Passengers flying out of Watertown and Pierre to Denver and back have recently been expressing frustration over canceled flights.
Watertown Mayor Sarah Caron says the California Pacific Airlines flight cancellations can be blamed mostly on bad timing. She says three of the airline’s four passenger jets have been out of service for maintenance and repairs, forcing the airline to cancel numerous flights.
An air leak on the third plane is being checked out in Denver. Caron says safety is important and anytime maintenance issues occur, an aircraft has to be grounded until problems are corrected.
Caron expects the airline to return to reliable service soon.
California Pacific Airlines has a contract with the Federal Government to provide essential air service to the communities of Watertown and Pierre.
