Pierre Athletic Hall of Fame Inducts 4 New Members

PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre High School Athletic Hall of Fame inducted 4 new member during halftime ceremonies on Friday at the Douglas and Pierre boys basketball game. The four new inductees were Charles Burke III, John Knox, Toby Bryant and Tyler Bryant, Burke was inducted in the contributors category. The Bankwest president has been instrumental in the last 15 years as the very firs member of the Pierre Sports Marketing group and has raised millions of dollars for Pierre athletic teams. Knox is the former head coach of the Pierre Governor and Lady Governor golf programs where he guided the Lady Govs to two state Class AA titles and coached 3 girls to state individual championships in a four year period. He also coached 1 state individual champion on the Governor golf team. And the Bryant boys led the Governor Wrestling team over the course of a 5 year span in the early 90’s with both Toby and Tyler winning 3 state wrestling individual titles.
